The community in Winnipeg
was established in 1993 after
relocating from Nova Scotia,
where
we began in 1983. We now
live in Armstrong Point,
a neighborhood near the city
center enclosed in
an elbow of the meandering
Assiniboine River. We live
like a big family. You may
have met us at a folk
festival during the summer
with our portable café or
seen our bus on our way.
We operate different
businesses to serve the population
surrounding us like a café called
Common Ground-Maté Factor,
a
wholesome food and natural
products enterprise that
we named “Common Sense
Natural Products,”
and a sizable machine shop
that offers a wide variety
of services to the local
population.
We are the first of many
communities that will be
gathered in different localities
across
Canada. Canada is a vast
country that has developed
from different cultures and
has become a home
for many others. Over the
years, the coexistence of
these different nationalities
has made up what
Canada has become – a
multicultural society.
Likewise, in our community
you will see those of English
and French backgrounds as
well as
many others living together
in unity. It is meant to
be a home for the lonely.
The reason of our common
bond, though, is the Messiah
-Yahshua- whose life unites
us. His forgiveness has put
us all on the
same foundation, a totally
new social order. This emerging
culture is beginning to take
form. Our
hope of peace on earth for “men
of good will” is our
goal. It starts in our hearts
and is demonstrated
already in our homes and
in our work places. In our
sincere effort to obey our
king Yahshua, we are
learning how people from
different backgrounds and
cultures can actually live
together in perfect
unity. The faith we live
by was perfectly expressed
by our Savior, Yahshua the
Messiah. We believe in
Him, and it is His Spirit
that teaches us and helps
us to overcome our selfish
ways. Our daily life is
filled with circumstances
that confront us with our
need to learn to forgive
and love each other.
We have a hope that does
not disappoint, because we
are part of a new set-apart
nation –the
restored spiritual twelve
tribes of Israel– that
will usher in the rule of
Messiah on Earth, the true
New Age.
You can visit us any time.
We love to have visitors.
Our homes are open to those
who are
seeking to obey their Creator
with all of their hearts.
So whether you find yourself
intrigued and
curious about our life or
in the desperate loneliness
of this cold, dark world,
we warmly invite you to
come into the firelight and
hear the message that can
kindle a fire in your heart,
too.
Come for a day, or to stay.
